What will this role involve?

As a Store Manager you will be responsible for a strong team and tasked with driving turnover and revenue for the store based on lean principles.

Keeping a close focus on financial KPIs—including wages, wastage, and shrinkage—will form a key element of the role, together with non‑financial KPIs such as customer service, customer feedback, internal audit, standards and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Confidently and professionally handle customer complaints and difficulties and ensure all colleagues understand the importance of driving customer loyalty.
  • Drive a culture of excellent customer service—ensuring all team members engage with customers enthusiastically, establish customer needs and help them to purchase by matching products to those needs through a high level of product knowledge while highlighting relevant promotions and upselling.
  • Ensure the store team understands all sales and KPI targets and are supported to exceed them while identifying and improving performance issues where required.
  • Manage and minimise all controllable costs efficiently and within planned budgets.
  • Build strong relationships with store peers and Retail Support departments to effectively deal with matters concerning stock, layout, promotions, training, development and employee relations.
  • Recruit, develop and retain high‑calibre colleagues that reflect the Ryman and TPRG values and behaviours.
  • Ensure effective planning of store resources to profitably operate the store within agreed budgets.
  • Drive a culture of coaching and development within the store.
