Rygor Group is looking for a practical and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our multi-site operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on site, building relationships with managers and technicians, and helping embed a positive, proportionate safety culture across the business.
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will act as a key point of contact for health and safety across the business, providing practical, on-site support, advice, and guidance to site teams. You will work closely with managers across the companyâs 20+ locations to ensure risks are understood and managed effectively, while supporting compliance with UK health and safety legislation and internal standards.

- Maintain consistent safety standards across sites through regular visits, inspections, and safety checks, ensuring risks are identified and managed before incidents occur.
- Support sites with robust risk management and safe systems of work, particularly for vehicle maintenance and repair, lifting equipment (LOLER), and hazardous substances (COSHH).
- Provide dependable support during incident and nearâmiss investigations, including root cause analysis, followâup actions, and RIDDOR reporting where required.
- Strengthen compliance and assurance through site audits, preparation for external inspections, and ongoing improvement of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
- Build trusted relationships with site teams by engaging confidently and constructively with managers and technicians at all levels.
- Take a proportionate, practical approach to health and safety that respects operational realities while maintaining high standards.
- Promote environmental responsibility through safe management of waste oils, chemicals, and materials, supporting both people and the wider environment.
Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel regularly between sites.
- Experience working in an operational, multiâsite environment.
- Practical understanding of risk assessments, safe systems of work, and incident investigation, including RIDDOR reporting.
- Confident, approachable, and able to engage positively with managers and technicians at all levels.
- Practical and handsâon, with a proportionate approach to health and safety.
- Selfâmotivated and proactive, comfortable managing own workload independently.
- Clear communicator, able to handle incidents and challenging conversations calmly and professionally.
- Fair, consistent, and respectful, building trust and credibility across sites.
- Focused on learning, continuous improvement, and positive safety culture.
- Experience within automotive, workshop, or engineering environments and knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) would be advantageous.
