📓 Your Role's Purpose
Are you an organised and detail-focused finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? Do you have experience of managing supplier invoices whilst confidently maintaining customer accounts and credit control processes?
Coolfreeze is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our team based in Manchester. This is a varied role that combines responsibility for both purchase ledger and credit control, making it ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, building strong relationships and ensuring financial processes run smoothly.
Reporting into the Finance Team based in Wiltshire and with a dotted line into the site’s Managing Director, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting cash flow management and ensuring suppliers and customers receive a first-class service.
This is a hands-on position requiring someone who is robust, organised and able to manage competing priorities while maintaining excellent attention to detail.

Purchase Ledger
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and resolving discrepancies
- Managing supplier statement reconciliations
- Preparing payment runs in line with agreed schedules
- Building strong relationships with suppliers and responding to queries promptly
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
Credit Control
- Monitoring customer accounts and outstanding balances
- Chasing overdue payments professionally and effectively
- Resolving customer account queries and disputes
- Producing aged debt reports and escalating concerns where required
- Supporting cash collection targets and improving debtor days
- Maintaining accurate records of all customer communications
⚙️ Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
- Must have Kerridge/Autoline expertise
- Has experience within an accounts or finance
- Has previous purchase ledger and credit control experience
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Is confident communicating with team members, customers and suppliers
- Can manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
- Is resilient and able to handle difficult conversations professionally
- Has strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
- Takes pride in accuracy and delivering excellent service
- Takes a proactive and positive approach
- Has strong problem-solving skills
- Possesses the ability to build effective working relationships
- Has a willingness to challenge discrepancies and follow processes through to completion
- Has a high level of integrity and professionalism
