Your Role's Purpose
Rygor Group is looking for a practical and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to support our multi-site operations. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys being visible on site, building relationships with managers and technicians, and helping embed a positive, proportionate safety culture across the business.
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will act as a key point of contact for health and safety across the business, providing practical, on-site support, advice, and guidance to site teams. You will work closely with managers across the company’s 20+ locations to ensure risks are understood and managed effectively, while supporting compliance with UK health and safety legislation and internal standards.
Where You’ll Add Value
- Rewarding: Add value on a daily basis by supporting managers and technicians with practical, hands-on health and safety advice that enables them to work confidently and safely. Contribute to a positive working environment by supporting training, briefings, and continuous learning, helping people feel supported rather than policed. Encourage proactive behaviours such as near-miss reporting and good housekeeping, reinforcing a culture where people are recognised for doing the right thing.
- Reliable: Maintain consistent safety standards across sites through regular visits, inspections, and safety checks, ensuring risks are identified and managed before incidents occur. Support sites with robust risk management and safe systems of work, particularly for vehicle maintenance and repair, lifting equipment (LOLER), and hazardous substances (COSHH). Provide dependable support during incident and near-miss investigations, including root cause analysis, follow-up actions, and RIDDOR reporting where required. Strengthen compliance and assurance through site audits, preparation for external inspections, and ongoing improvement of ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001).
- Respectful: Build trusted relationships with site teams by engaging confidently and constructively with managers and technicians at all levels. Take a proportionate, practical approach to health and safety that respects operational realities while maintaining high standards. Promote environmental responsibility through safe management of waste oils, chemicals, and materials, supporting both people and the wider environment.
Skills & Behaviours Required for this Role:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel regularly between sites.

- Practical and hands-on, with a proportionate approach to health and safety.
- Self-motivated and proactive, comfortable managing own workload independently.

- Fair, consistent, and respectful, building trust and credibility across sites.
- Focused on learning, continuous improvement, and positive safety culture.
- Experience within automotive, workshop, or engineering environments and knowledge of ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) would be advantageous.
- Demonstrates Rygor’s values of being Rewarding, Reliable, and Respectful in day-to-day work.
