We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support the day‑to‑day operations of our finance function in a fast‑growing fintech scale‑up. This is a full‑time hybrid role based in Manchester. Working closely with the Management Accountant, you will assist with financial reporting, month‑end processes and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an excellent opportunity to join at an early stage, where you’ll gain exposure to scaling and improving finance processes within a high‑growth environment.
You’ll support across a broad range of finance activities, including:
- Transactional
- Assist in maintaining accurate records across purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring all transactions are recorded in a timely manner
- Help resolve invoice queries and discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform cash allocation and support bank reconciliations
- Month‑end Support
- Support month‑end closure working closely with the Management Accountant to meet deadlines
- Assist with month‑end procedures including journals, accruals & prepayments
- Ensure supporting schedules and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Reporting and Analysis
- Support the collection and analysis of data to investigate variances and validate reported figures
- Assist in preparing ad‑hoc financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts or bookkeeping role (including internships or placement experience)
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
- Good Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
- Interested in studying towards AAT or another accounting qualification (study support available)
