We are seeking a Deputy Manager to assist the Manager in the daily running of the home, in an efficient and caring manner, ensuring the home is operating to the highest standard. You will be responsible for staff supervision, while working in a direct care capacity.

Duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

these behaviours within all aspects of the role. - To ensure Health and Safety Standards are being met within the Home and that his/her
knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation is kept up to date (this will include studying for
a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) - To be directly responsible to the Home Manager, or their appointed representative in
respect of all duties performed. Subject to the terms and conditions of the contract of
employment. - Assisting with maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff
- The purchase of food. Responsibility for the serving of nutritious balanced meals suitable
for elderly persons and the manner in which meals are cooked and presented. - To undertake simple book keeping and to ensure that monthly invoices and returns are
forwarded to Head Office. - Monitor and control all income and expenditure and work within the purchasing cost report
as supplied by Head Office. - Ensure that all required records are kept with regard to the requirements of the Local
Authority, the Health Authority and central government legislation. - Supervise the cleaning of the home in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
- Endeavour to achieve a high compliment of residents.
- Supervise the laundering of resident\βs clothing and the home\βs linen in order to maintain a
high standard of personal and general home cleanliness.
August 2024 - To be aware of, and take responsibility for fire prevention procedures, fire prevention
equipment and the training of staff with regard to fire prevention and emergency
evacuation procedures - Be responsible for supervising and monitoring staff
- Work in a supportive care capacity on a day to day basis
- To assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of appropriate training for
staff - To have designated responsibility for the ordering, recording, administration and disposal
of the Homes medication system - To undertake appropriate training and personal development to ensure that they are
knowledgeable with appropriate legislation - To take part in the pre-admission assessment of prospective residents.
- To attend call outs where necessary to ensure the safety of the home as part of planned
out of hours support to the home.
Effective monitoring of appropriate care delivery systems and routines which meet the needs of the specialised client group, in accordance with the requirements of the
\βHealth and Social Care Act 2008\β. To include:
- Assessing the needs of prospective and new residents and confirming that the needs of
prospective residents can be met within the home - Implementing and monitoring Care Plan systems
- Ensuring confidentiality of all information
- Liaising with GP\βs, nurses and other allied professionals
- Providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment
- Ensuring the provision of necessary equipment and supplies
- Meeting individual residents regularly
- Ensuring that there is provision for therapy to deal with the spiritual, emotional, physical
and mental needs of residents - Assisting with maintaining adequate staffing levels and the correct mix of staff
- Frequent communication with care staff on care issues
- Supporting family and friends of residents when necessary and appropriate to the client
group - Assisting with the monitoring of dependency levels
- Complying with the requirements of the CQC in regard to complaints
