Are you an Electrician with experience working within the Maintenance and Facilities Management sector? Rydon Maintenance Ltd have an excellent opportunity for a Mobile Maintenance Electrician in Bristol on a facilities management contract with the NHS. Rydon Maintenance Ltd provides a range of hard facilities management and property maintenance services in partnership with a range of NHS Trusts. We provide reactive and planned maintenance to a number of NHS buildings and we work to strict timescales and safety requirements to ensure the comfort and safety of service users using these NHS facilities.

As part of the role you will be required to undertake scheduled Planned Maintenance (PPM's) and reactive repairs across a number of NHS healthcare sites. The contract covers a number of healthcare properties in a patch between Bristol, Salisbury and Swindon and the role will involve:

  • Reactive maintenance and repairs such as power and lighting faults
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM's) such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing
  • Maintain and repair electrical systems and associated plant
  • Respond to breakdowns, fault-find and complete minor and small installations
  • Support with other general building fabric repairs
  • Participate in the call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support

The normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. When on-call you will receive a standby allowance and overtime paid per call out.

Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS (or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS). Alternatively, you will have worked for a maintenance contractor providing a planned/reactive maintenance service in a commercial setting (perhaps a hotel, school, supermarkets etc).

  • Testing and Inspection 2391 - Desirable but not essential
  • Solid Health & Safety awareness
  • Experience of using a handheld device (PDA) + Good IT Skills
  • A full UK manual driving licence is required (no more than 6 points)
