Rydon Maintenance is seeking a skilled Carpenter with experience inspecting and repairing fire doors to join our repairs and maintenance team. The role involves carrying out fire door inspections, repairs and replacements in hospitals, ambulance stations, care homes and other commercial buildings in the South East.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection of fire doors to assess whether repairs or replacements are required.
- Fire door maintenance and remedial works, including fitting of door stoppers.
- Use current fire regulations to ensure doors are fully compliant.
- Conduct inspections and ensure fire doors meet fire safety regulations.
- Adjust door frames, ironmongery, and seals for proper fit and function.
- Identify and rectify any fire door defects.
- Install new fire doors and frames – the successful candidate will receive the necessary training.
- Ensure all work meets industry regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
- Previous experience with maintenance, repair and replacement of fire doors.
- Experience working in healthcare environments preferred but not essential.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Valid UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
