Rydon is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to join our NHS planned, preventative and reactive maintenance division. Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group that provides hard facilities management services to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare sector. We serve more than 250 buildings on behalf of 20 NHS Trusts across England, covering hospitals, ambulance, primary care and mental health trusts.
We are seeking a Regional Manager (NHS Hard Facilities Management) to manage our planned, preventative and responsive repairs team. You will lead contract managers responsible for day‑to‑day contract and maintenance operative management, overseeing operational, contractual, strategic and financial control of Estates Maintenance Services across community health and PFI healthcare facility centres.
Key Duties Include:
- Ensure delivery of facilities services by our directly employed team and specialist subcontractors in line with budgetary constraints and contractual obligations.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, current legislation and local codes of practice and policies.
- Maintain management controls and systems/processes such as auditing and action plans to monitor and deliver timely closure of audit findings.
- Identify new business opportunities and service improvements through developing regional strategy and business plan.
- Maximise financial return while managing risk, resolving high‑value and high‑risk contractual disputes where necessary.
- Take responsibility for the financial performance of the region.
- Oversee lifecycle risk registers, maintaining up‑to‑date risk management plans and communicating them to stakeholders.
- Create and maintain strong client relationships, attending client meetings as required.
- Mentor, support and develop your team and promote a collaborative team culture.
- Continuously improve business processes to deliver consistent service standards.

Experience Required:
The successful candidate will have previous operational or regional management experience, ideally with a hard facilities maintenance contractor providing NHS services. Experience working directly within the NHS or a consultancy that delivers services to this market is also welcome. The preferred candidate will demonstrate excellent budget management, strong people management, and outstanding written and verbal communication skills. A proven track record of setting and meeting budgets, driving operational performance and building client relationships in a similar role is essential. Experience of PFI (Private Finance Initiative) or LIFT (Local Improvement Finance Trust) contracts is particularly encouraged. This is a diverse, long‑term growth role.
