The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of directly employed skilled trade operatives across planned, preventative and responsive maintenance.
  • Work with a contract manager and a supervisor to ensure the Rydon maintenance service is delivered to the highest standards.
  • Cover five buildings across Essex, traveling to sites as necessary.
  • Ensure engineers are suitably scheduled (via our scheduling team) to undertake repairs in the correct priority order.
  • Ensure the safety of clients and service users in busy NHS buildings across Essex.
  • Ensure repairs (planned or reactive) are undertaken in line with strict KPIs set within the contract and desired quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date internal, statutory and client reporting, and keep client communication at an excellent standard.
  • Ensure the effective running of responsive, planned and lifecycle maintenance programmes to provide a safe and comfortable environment for service users in live hospital and healthcare environments.
  • Where in‑house service delivery is not possible, ensure best value by instructing nominated sub‑contractors to undertake the work.
  • Ensure operational performance meets contractual SLAs and KPIs.
  • Work with the Contract Manager to deliver ongoing improvements and recommendations to the long‑term contract strategy to maximise productivity and quality while ensuring cost efficiencies.
  • Conduct regular audits, make recommendations, and ensure all aspects of HSQ&E and Compliance are managed effectively.
  • Utilise the CAFM system to drive service delivery and performance across the site.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Facilities Manager, Supervisor or Account Manager with a maintenance contractor (ideally supporting NHS clients; commercial experience transferable).
  • Strong influencing, communication and relationship‑building skills; competent in managing and maintaining statutory compliance.
  • Knowledge and experience of building services maintenance and Health & Safety procedures in daily site operation.
  • Keen customer‑service approach, strong interpersonal skills, and good IT skills (Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Outlook and Excel).
