Based at Goodmayes Hospital in Ilford, this Maintenance Electrician role is an excellent opportunity to join our highly regarded Maintenance team. As part of a small team, you will provide planned, preventative and responsive repairs to the building's fabric, plant, equipment and alarm systems, predominantly in Ilford but also at healthcare sites in Hertford, Epping and Southend when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct emergency light testing, fire alarm checks, and scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform reactive and remedial electrical work, including fault-finding and repairs for lighting, power issues, lamp replacement, pumps, motors, and 2nd-fix tasks such as sockets, switches and other general electrical problems.
  • Assist other trades and complete general building fabric repairs.
  • Participate in the call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support.
  • Carry out workmanship checks and support the Service Manager with health & safety audits when requested.
  • Manage stock of spares and consumables on site.
  • Maintain and update repair records and submit reports as required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Electrical qualifications and 18th Edition certification.
  • Previous experience in a multi-skilled trade role within a maintenance environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong people skills, great attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Testing and inspection qualification.
  • Experience working directly for the NHS or a maintenance contractor within the NHS.
  • Experience maintaining commercial properties such as schools, prisons or supermarkets.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
