We are seeking a Fire Door Carpenter to complete inspections, maintenance, repair, and replacement of fire doors. The role involves travelling to multiple NHS healthcare and public buildings across the South East. A company van and fuel card will be provided; a UK driving licence is therefore required. Full time, 40 hours per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.

Responsibilities

  • Inspection of fire doors to assess whether repairs or replacements are required.
  • Fire door maintenance and remedial works, including fitting of door stoppers.
  • Ensuring that fire doors comply with current fire regulations.
  • Adjusting door frames, ironmongery, and seals for proper fit and function.
  • Identifying and rectifying any fire door defects.
  • Installation of new fire doors and frames – training provided.
  • Ensuring all work meets industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Travel to NHS trusts and public buildings as required.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
  • Previous experience with the maintenance, repair, and replacement/installation of fire doors.
  • Experience working in healthcare environments such as hospitals or care homes preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Valid UK driving licence (no more than 6 points).
  • Proficiency in using a company van and fuel card for travel.
