As Service Manager, you will oversee a team of directly employed skilled trade operatives responsible for planned, preventative and responsive maintenance across NHS facilities in Bristol, Salisbury and Swindon. Your role is to ensure efficient service delivery, meet SLA and KPI targets, and maintain statutory compliance with health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day‑to‑day operations of hard FM services, including scheduling and coordinating maintenance work for over 250 NHS sites.
  • Ensure reactive call and PPM responses are timely to support smooth running of hospital environments.
  • Oversee specialist planned and reactive subcontracted services when in‑house work is not possible, ensuring works meet quality standards and HSQ& E obligations.
  • Report to the contract manager and contribute to improvement initiatives, cost optimisation, risk mitigation and long‑term contract strategy.

Experience Required

The preferred candidate will have previous experience working for a facilities management company, ideally with NHS clients. Strong influencing, communication and relationship‑building skills are essential. Knowledge of M&E building services maintenance and health and safety procedures in daily site operations is required. A proactive customer‑service approach, strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) are essential.
