Are you an Electrician with experience working within the Maintenance and Facilities Management sector? Rydon Maintenance Ltd have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrician / Maintenance Site Supervisor to join our highly regarded repairs and maintenance team in Southend, Essex on a facilities management contract with the NHS.
Rydon Maintenance Ltd provides a range of hard facilities management and property maintenance services in partnership with a range of NHS Trusts. We provide reactive and planned maintenance to a number of NHS buildings and we work to strict timescales and safety requirements to ensure the comfort and safety of service users using these NHS facilities. You will be working across two care homes located in Southend, Essex.
- Reactive maintenance and repairs such as power and lighting faults
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM's) such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing
- Respond to breakdowns, fault-find and complete minor and small installations
- Support with other general building fabric repairs
- Contractor Spot/checks
- Managing/Supervising Contractors
- Van Inspections
There will also be the requirement to participate in the call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support. The normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. When on-call you will receive a standby allowance and overtime paid per call out.

Previous relevant experience in the maintenance of buildings is essential, ideally within the NHS or for a maintenance contractor providing services to the NHS. Alternatively, you will have worked for a maintenance contractor providing a planned/reactive maintenance service in a commercial setting (perhaps a hotel, school, supermarkets etc).
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installations is required; Testing and Inspection 2391 is desirable but not essential. You will also have an understanding of Microsoft packages, strong people skills, great attention to detail and be looking for an opportunity that combines supervisory duties whilst still maintaining an active role within a skilled trade. A full UK driving licence is required as a company van is provided.
