A leading international law firm is seeking a Compliance Assistant to join its London-based Risk & Compliance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop a long-term career in legal compliance, financial crime, and regulatory risk within a highly regarded global legal environment. Working as part of a collaborative and dynamic compliance function, you will support the firm's efforts to meet its anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and broader financial crime obligations. You will work closely with compliance professionals, lawyers, and business services teams across multiple international offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with client due diligence (CDD) and know your client (KYC) investigations.
- Conduct sanctions, politically exposed person (PEP), adverse media, and financial crime screening using a range of compliance tools.
- Provide guidance and support to legal and support teams on AML procedures and compliance requirements.
- Assist with internal audits, compliance investigations, and risk-related projects.
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Compliance and Financial Crime team.
About You
- Previous experience within a law firm, compliance, onboarding, conflicts, AML, or risk environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of UK anti-money laundering regulations and SRA requirements.
- Strong interest in developing a career in legal compliance and financial crime prevention.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
