Main Responsibilities

  • Inbox management - Handling finance inbox enquiries and ensuring accurate, timely responses
  • Audit support - Assisting with the annual audit and maintaining full SRA Accounts Rules compliance throughout the year
  • Cashflow oversight - Monitoring daily cash balances, managing currency trades and preparing internal cashflow reporting
  • Bank reconciliations - Completing monthly bank reconciliations and monitoring daily balances
  • Expense approvals - Managing expense and invoice approvals through Emburse
  • VAT reporting - Preparing monthly VAT reports for the UK and Germany, and drafting VAT returns for review and submission
  • Statutory filings - Producing statutory and regulatory statistical returns with accuracy and timely filing
  • Budget cycle support - Supporting the annual budgeting process, including data gathering, departmental liaison and preparation of schedules
  • Financial analysis - Completing variance analysis, balance sheet reviews and P&L accuracy checks
  • Client receipts - Recording and reporting client account receipts
  • Journal posting - Reviewing and posting journals to ensure accurate financial records
  • Vendor processing - Processing and maintaining vendor uploads
  • Team support - Providing support across the team, including oversight of transactional tasks such as payment runs, card and expense processing, invoice entry and intercompany billing

Required Skills

  • Legal accounts experience - Strong experience within a legal finance environment
  • System knowledge - Experience using Aderant and Chrome River would be advantageous
  • SRA expertise - In‑depth understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Technical proficiency - Advanced Excel and strong Microsoft Office skills
