A major international law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Business Development Manager to lead BD and client development for its flagship Insurance practice and sector. This is a high‑impact, strategic position overseeing a team of five and working closely with senior leadership across the firm.
The Opportunity
You’ll shape and deliver the growth strategy for one of the firm’s largest and most established sectors, partnering with senior stakeholders to drive:
- Sector‑wide business development initiatives
- Key account management and client relationship programmes
- Cross‑selling and revenue‑growth opportunities
- Insight‑led BD planning using market trends, data and client intelligence
- International collaboration through the firm’s global insurance network
Key Responsibilities
- Lead BD strategy for the Insurance practice and sector
- Drive the Global Insurance Key Account Programme
- Oversee strategic pitches, pursuits and major sales opportunities
- Manage and mentor a high‑performing BD team
- Collaborate with global partners, lawyers and BD specialists
- Represent the firm at market events and with selected key clients
About You
- Significant BD/marketing experience in professional services, ideally legal
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance sector (disputes, claims or corporate insurance particularly valued)
- Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and influencing skills
- Strategic thinker with commercial acumen
- Confident team leader and relationship builder
- Proactive, collaborative and able to drive high‑impact initiatives
