We are seeking a Financial Services Supervisor to join our London office. This is a key leadership role within the Financial Services Administration team, responsible for overseeing Accounts Payable and Cash Application functions, managing personnel, and supporting the financial management of EMEA offices.
You will work closely with senior finance leadership to ensure compliance with policies and deliver accurate financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Direct supervision of Financial Services Specialist and Assistant, including performance appraisals and development.
- Manage Accounts Payable & Cash Application functions.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance across EMEA offices.
- Assist with annual tax requirements, audits, and financial statements for EMEA offices.
- Oversee cash requirements, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Act as primary contact for auditors, bankers, and third-party organizations (e.g., HMRC, tax advisors).
- Support annual budgeting and monthly closing procedures, investigating variances as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve financial issues as they arise.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a law firm.
- Strong technical skills, especially MS Excel (VLOOKUP, IF statements, conditional formatting).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across all levels of the business.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Experience with Elite 3E preferred but not essential.
- Secondary school education required; post-secondary preferred.
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
