An international law firm with a strong global presence is seeking a Deputy Head of Risk to join its Risk Management team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a senior offering the opportunity to operate at the centre of the firm’s AML and financial crime function during a period of strategic change.
Working closely with senior leadership, the successful candidate will act as a key subject matter expert, supporting the delivery of AML frameworks while advising on complex risk and compliance matters across the business.
The Role
- Take a lead role in overseeing AML and financial crime processes across the firm
- Act as a key escalation point for complex business acceptance and onboarding matters
- Provide expert guidance to partners and stakeholders on AML, financial crime and sanctions issues
- Support senior leadership, including the MLRO, on regulatory matters and external engagement where required
- Contribute to firmwide risk assessments, audits and ongoing enhancement of compliance frameworks
About You
- Extensive experience within AML, financial crime or risk in a legal or professional services environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK AML regulations and regulatory expectations
- Experience operating at a senior level, with the confidence to engage and influence stakeholders across the business
- Proven ability to assess complex risk issues and provide clear, commercial solutions
- Experience supporting audits, risk assessments or regulatory reviews
