A leading US law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Director, AML and Onboarding to join its growing Risk & Compliance team in a senior leadership capacity.
Experience with US conflicts rules, particularly ABA conflict rules and their practical application, is a key requirement for this role but not a must.
The Opportunity
As a key member of the Risk & Compliance leadership team, you will oversee the firm's New Business Intake function, with a particular focus on AML, financial crime, and conflicts management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the firm's New Business Intake, AML, and Conflicts functions across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage and develop a large team responsible for client onboarding, conflicts analysis, and business acceptance.
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex AML, sanctions, conflicts, and financial crime matters.
- Support the firm's MLRO and wider Risk leadership team on regulatory and compliance-related issues.
- Work closely with US stakeholders on conflict clearance matters and cross-border risk issues.
About You
- Extensive experience within AML, Financial Crime, New Business Intake, Conflicts, or Risk & Compliance in a law firm environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of AML regulations, sanctions, client due diligence, and financial crime risk management.
- Proven experience advising on and resolving conflicts issues under ABA rules is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage.
- Strong understanding of the challenges and risk considerations faced by international law firms.
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
