A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Resource Manager to join its growing Finance function and support the expansion of its cutting-edge legal teams.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created position, reporting into the Head of Financial Planning and offers the chance to build and shape the firm's resource allocation approach from the ground up. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting a range of highly specialised legal teams, including Technology, Cyber & Data, Content & Advertising, and Brand Protection. These teams work with some of the world’s most innovative clients, delivering high-impact legal solutions across the tech, digital, and creative sectors. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys creating structure, improving processes, and acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the resourcing and allocation function for the department, acting as the go-to expert for partners and fee earners.
- Understand pipeline and upcoming work, collaborating closely with Business Development to match the right people to the right opportunities.
- Improve and streamline work allocation systems and reporting tools.
- Balance workloads and ensure fair access to stretch and development opportunities.
- Support with recruitment and headcount planning based on performance insights and utilisation metrics.
- Provide data and insights to drive strategic decision-making and capacity planning.
- Partner with the Talent and HR teams on onboarding, performance, promotions and exits.
About You
- Previous experience in resource allocation or work allocation, ideally within a legal environment.
- Confident communicator, able to influence and advise senior stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong commercial awareness.
- Familiarity with resourcing or workforce management software.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with a strong team ethic.
- Experience adapting systems and processes to meet varied business needs.
