The Legal Operations Manager - Financial Institutions Division is a newly created opportunity within an award-winning global law firm based in London.

Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations, this pivotal role will act as a key operational partner to the Financial Institutions Division, driving efficiency, collaboration, and strategic execution across the business.

The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the division's strategic and commercial objectives, ensuring the effective delivery of operational initiatives, optimal resource utilisation, and the successful implementation of firm-wide projects and programmes.

Working closely with practice group leaders and business services teams, the Legal Operations Manager will help embed best practices, enhance performance, and support the division in achieving operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Legal Operations to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the division's practice groups, working closely with Legal Operations Executives and business services teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement of operational processes, including work allocation, leave coordination, onboarding and offboarding, trainee transitions, office moves, and team events.
  • Identify and implement workflow efficiencies, leveraging technology and AI to enhance productivity and service delivery.
  • Lead the implementation, tracking, and embedding of divisional and firmwide initiatives, including technology, client, and process transformation projects.
  • Oversee joiner, leaver, and team movement processes, including secondments, ensuring effective planning, stakeholder engagement, and a strong return on investment.

  • Good understanding of law firms, legal processes, and how Partners work.
  • Someone who is visible, great at building relationships, and is hands-on.
  • Someone who is a strong problem solver and is willing to find solutions.
  • A background/interest in technology will be a bonus.
