Exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and forward-thinking legal team in the heart of the City. A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Information Governance Specialist to support its growing London office. This is a pivotal role for an individual with a strong background in records management and a keen interest in legal technology and data governance.

Working at the intersection of law and technology, the successful candidate will champion best practices in electronic records management, lead process improvements, and act as a subject matter expert across a broad range of governance initiatives. You will play a key role in liaising between legal, IT and security teams, ensuring the effective management, migration and protection of records throughout their lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing electronic records across the firm and supporting onboarding and offboarding of legal professionals
  • Coordinating data collection, file releases and client records processes
  • Acting as a liaison between departments to support email and document management best practices
  • Overseeing data migrations, archival projects and records retention strategies
  • Advising on governance in systems design and collaborating with IT security teams

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Minimum four years’ experience in records management, IT, or litigation support (preferably within a legal environment)
  • Deep familiarity with systems such as iManage, NetDocs, Documentum or Prosperoware
  • Knowledge of data migration, archival techniques and secure file transfer protocols
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

Preferred qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Library/Information Science or similar, with relevant certifications (CRM, IGP, CIPP, or CIGO)
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Symantec Enterprise Vault and Microsoft Exchange
