We are partnering with a leading global professional services firm to recruit a Senior Network Engineer for their London office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high‑performing technology team and play a key role in managing and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure.
About the Role
As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of complex LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data centre networks. You’ll work closely with the Network Engineering team to ensure high availability, security, and performance across the firm’s global network environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day‑to‑day technical support for network infrastructure across data centres and office locations.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure uptime.
- Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and refreshes.
- Lead complex technical projects from design through implementation.
- Manage remote access solutions and wireless network performance.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and participate in change, incident, and problem management processes.
What They Are Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in network engineering within enterprise environments.
- Expert knowledge of Cisco or equivalent platforms, including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, and EtherChannel.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), VPNs, and segmentation.
- Experience with enterprise Wi‑Fi design and troubleshooting (Aruba, Cisco, or similar).
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Experience with SD‑WAN, network automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform), and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, ThousandEyes).
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, GCP) and advanced fabric designs (VXLAN, EVPN).
