My client is seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Management Accountant. This is a broad, varied role that blends financial control, management reporting, tax coordination and client accounting, working across London, Brussels and Frankfurt. We are seeking a candidate who enjoys working across multiple jurisdictions and partnering with senior stakeholders.
The Role
- Taking ownership of the general ledger and month-end activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with firm policies and accounting standards.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations (bank, payroll, fixed assets, intercompany, VAT, etc.).
- Prepare P&L and balance sheet analysis, investigating variances and trends.
- Support cash management, including bank reconciliations and payment run assistance.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Produce cost-centre reporting and assist budget holders with queries.
- Coordinate local tax compliance with external advisers (VAT, wage tax, statutory filings).
- Accounting support for Frankfurt and Brussels.
- Assist with statutory accounts and audits.
- Ensure accurate intercompany accounting and cost allocations across all European offices.
- Support compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and internal policies relating to client money.
- Assist with client account reconciliations and ensure timely escalation of exceptions.
- Monitor and resolve residual client balances in line with policy.
- Maintain clear process documentation and contribute to ongoing control improvements.
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong general ledger and month-end experience from a law firm environment.
- Confident in management accounting, variance analysis and producing clear financial narrative.
- Excellent reconciliation discipline and a strong control mindset.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfortable working with finance systems/ERPs.
