Accounts Assistant
London | Hybrid | US Law Firm
Ryder Reid is recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a leading law firm's Finance team. This role supports the Assistant Accountant and Client Legal Cashier across London and Europe, ensuring accurate financial records, compliant processes, and smooth coordination with the wider business. It's an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is eager to learn, develop and work towards professional accounting qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Bank reconciliations - Complete office and client account reconciliations.
- Balance sheet reconciliations - Maintain reconciled accounts and follow up on outstanding items.
- Journal entries - Prepare journals across multi-book ledgers.
- VAT support - Assist with VAT return preparation.
- Financial statements - Support annual financial statement preparation.
- Audit support - Collate documentation and liaise with auditors.
- Financial analysis - Prepare ad-hoc financial and tax analyses.
- Client account payments - Arrange client and office-to-client account payments under supervision.
- Interest processing - Process quarterly interest due on client accounts.
- SRA compliance - Assist with the annual SRA audit.
- Systems implementation - Assist with new accounting system implementations, including UAT and training.
Skill Requirements
- Strong A-levels or equivalent.
- Experience in a law firm finance team.
- IT literate, confident using Microsoft Excel and generative AI tools.
- Experience with Aderant is advantageous but not essential.
