UK Outstations Engineer – Flexible Location in Stansted

Overview

In this role you will lead Ryanair’s UK Engineering Line Stations, ensuring effective maintenance operations, compliance, and liaison with third parties. You’ll manage manpower, spares, budgets, and base visits while mentoring engineers and apprentices. The position requires strong leadership in a fast-changing environment and a hands-on approach to ensure safe, on-time aircraft support. This opportunity lets you influence maintenance performance across a wide network and work closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations in the UK
• Oversee routine maintenance, incidents/AOGs and third-party liaison
• Manpower planning, recruitment, retention, and performance management
• Ensure availability of spares and equipment at each location
• Budgeting, invoicing and contract management with external suppliers
• Conduct base visits, staff welfare and regulatory compliance (UK CAA, EASA)
• Supervise and mentor engineers, aircraft mechanics and apprentices
• Investigate maintenance delays, Engineering Safety Reports and non-compliances; implement corrective actions

Key requirements

• Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential)
• EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Desirable)
• Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable)
• Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable)
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Proven leadership and remote management of diverse teams
• Aeronautical Engineering background
• Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering
• Good IT literacy (Essential) with AMOS experience (Desirable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Unrestricted right to work in the UK; valid UK Driving Licence
