Overview
In this role you will lead Ryanair’s UK Engineering Line Stations, ensuring safe and compliant on-site maintenance operations at Stansted Airport. You will manage manpower, budgeting, and external contractor relationships while safeguarding regulatory compliance (UK CAA and EASA) and staff welfare. You’ll supervise engineers and apprentices, investigate delays and safety issues, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. This hands-on leadership position supports Ryanair’s high-utilization fleet and fast-changing operations, offering development and impact at a European scale.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Ryanair’s UK Engineering Line Stations.
- Oversee routine maintenance, aircraft incidents/AOGs, and third-party liaison.
- Manpower planning, recruitment, retention, and staff performance management.
- Ensure spare parts and equipment availability at each location.
- Budgeting, invoicing, and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers.
- Conduct base visits, staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliance checks.
- Supervise and mentor engineers, aircraft mechanics, and apprentices.
- Investigate maintenance delays, engineering safety reports and non-compliances; implement recurrence prevention strategies.
Key requirements
- Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential)
- EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License (Desirable)
- Boeing 737-NG Endorsement (Desirable)
- Boeing 737-Max Endorsement (Desirable)
- Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven leadership experience; capable of remotely managing diverse teams
- Aeronautical Engineering background
- Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering
- Good IT literacy; AMOS experience (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK; valid UK Driving License
