Overview
As UK Outstations Engineer you will lead Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations across the UK from Stansted, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient maintenance operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, managing shifts, resources and external contracts to keep aircraft ready for service. You’ll address maintenance delays, incidents and regulatory compliance, shaping reliable operations in a fast-changing environment. This role offers hands-on leadership with impact on fleet readiness and safety culture within a large airline network.
Responsibilities
- Lead Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations in the UK and supervise maintenance activities
- Manage routine maintenance, incidents/AOGs and third-party liaison
- Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management
- Ensure availability of spares and equipment at each site
- Budgeting, invoicing and management of external contracts
- Conduct base visits, monitor staff welfare and regulatory compliance (UK CAA and EASA)
- Mentor engineers, aircraft mechanics and apprentices
- Investigate maintenance delays, engineering safety reports and non-compliances; implement preventive actions
Key requirements
- Aircraft Line Maintenance experience
- EASA Part-66 B1/B2 license (Desirable)
- Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available)
- Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available)
- Strong time management and ability to prioritise
- Proven leadership, able to remotely manage diverse teams
- Aeronautical Engineering background
- Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering
- Good IT literacy; AMOS experience (Desirable)
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Unrestricted right to work in the UK and valid UK driving licence
