Aircraft Engineering Service (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a UK Outstations Engineer to be based in Stansted Airport working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. With a fleet of 600+ aircraft, state of the art facilities and excellent training provisions, Ryanair offer exceptional career opportunities and progression within the industry.

The successful candidate will be an operationally focused, highly adaptable and proven leader, who is able to demonstrate a flexible working attitude in a fast-changing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the UK General Manager and the Technical Operations Manager, the successful candidate, who will work on a 4 on 4 off day shift rotation, will be responsible for the leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations in the UK. Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares and equipment are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
  • Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliances.
  • Supervision and mentoring of Engineers, Aircraft Mechanics and Apprentices.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non-Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
Requirements

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with managerial experience who is ready, willing and able to manage technical teams in a diverse and fast-changing environment. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
  • EASA Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Desirable).
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Aeronautical Engineering background required.
  • Previous experience in Aviation or Engineering.
  • Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
