AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) is inviting applications for Trainee Mechanics to be based at Edinburgh Airport, working in cooperation with our client airline Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. As part of our continuous growth plan, we are seeking to recruit Trainee Aircraft Mechanics for our initial 12-week training programme based at one of our industry-leading maintenance facilities.

Our Trainee Mechanic scheme is designed to provide hands-on training and valuable experience to individuals interested in pursuing a career as an Aircraft Mechanic and Engineer. Under the guidance of our experienced team, trainees will have the opportunity to learn essential skills and techniques required to build a new career within aviation. Following graduation from the 12-week training programme, successful candidates will then be based at our Edinburgh Line Station.

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervised scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks on Ryanair’s fleet of Boeing 737-800 and 737-8200 aircraft.
  • Aircraft on Ground (AOG) recovery support.
  • Base Husbandry and Housekeeping.
  • Maintaining a safe and compliant working environment, adhering to all company procedures, policies and regulations.
  • Any other tasks as directed by Supervisor / Manager.

All candidates must have a clean criminal record, full manual driving licence, and the unrestricted right to live and work in the country that they are applying for this role in, with a valid passport to work within that country.

Requirements Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineering Qualification (Desirable)
  • Experience in a similar mechanical role such as a motor vehicle mechanic, electrician or fabricator (Desirable)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential)
