Ryanair, Europe’s Largest Airline Group, is hiring a SIM Engineer based in East Midlands Training Centre, in our SIM Engineering Department. This is a very exciting time to join Ryanair as we look to expand our operation to 800 aircraft and 300 million guests within the next 10 years.
The Role
Reporting to the Simulator Engineering Manager, the Senior Sim Engineer is a key position in EMT’s Engineering team and will be responsible for ensuring defects are resolved in a timely manner and leading junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring all Simulators are maintained to the highest industry standards to achieve as close to 100% quality and availability.
- Ensuring scheduled maintenance, defects rectification and modifications are performed in an efficient and timely manner.
- Identifying spares requirement and working with the Simulator Engineering Manager to ensure stock requirements are met.
- Working with the Simulator Engineering Manager to ensure all SIM approvals/evaluations are completed to the highest possible standards.
- Ensuring all work completed and documentation is in accordance with the Compliance Manual.
- Overseeing junior engineers, encouraging growth in their abilities and self-sufficiency.
Requirements
- At least 2 years working as a Sim Engineer and / or completion of a CAE training course.
- Experience working with and corresponding with regulatory authorities including reporting on issues raised during evaluations.
- Proven track record of maintaining the FSTD’s as per the CS-FSTD (A) Issue 2 standards.
- A background in aviation/flight simulation.
