Ryanair Engineering, delivered by PAML, provides heavy aircraft maintenance services for Ryanair’s fleet of Boeing 737 NG and MAX aircraft. Based at Prestwick International Airport, the company supports one of Europe’s largest and most dynamic airline operations. Our Apprenticeships offer candidates a structured training pathway which will enable them to develop a career in aircraft maintenance engineering. Apprentices will be given the opportunity to gain valuable experience across all areas of the aircraft, learning from experienced professionals. The Aircraft Engineer Apprentice role provides a four‑year training pathway. Apprentices gain comprehensive experience across all areas of aircraft maintenance, supporting work on wings, engines, fuselage, tail, cabin, and flight deck systems. Candidates will also complete a series of engineering modules enroute to becoming a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. The Aircraft Structural Repair Engineer Apprenticeship is a three‑year programme designed to develop the technical skills required to carry out structural sheet‑metal repairs on commercial aircraft. Apprentices will work directly within the hangar environment, performing hands‑on repair tasks aligned with approved maintenance data and aviation safety standards.

- Academic Qualifications
- Aircraft Engineering (B1/B2) Apprenticeship: A strong academic background with good attainment in Mathematics, English and Physics at higher level is required.
- Aircraft Structural Repair Apprenticeship: Applicants should have a P.E.O. and N.C. level 5 in an Engineering discipline. Candidates who have completed or are close to completing a qualification in Aeronautical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline are also encouraged to apply (H.N.C./H.N.D. or equivalent).
- Strong practical ability with evidence of mechanical or technical aptitude.
- Effective problem‑solving skills and interest in engineering principles.
- Clear enthusiasm for aviation and motivation to pursue a career in aircraft engineering.
Candidates must have the unrestricted right to live and work in the U.K. and be Eighteen years of age on or before October 2026.
