Station Manager – Manchester AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) in cooperation with our client Ryanair is inviting applications for a Station Manager to be based at Manchester Airport. The role requires an operationally focused, highly adaptable leader capable of maintaining safety, reliability, and performance across all maintenance operations. This leadership position demands strong organisational skills, people management experience, and a solid background in aircraft maintenance and engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities
- As part of the UK Management Team, the successful candidate will support the leadership and management of Ryanair’s UK Engineering Line Stations and a team of technical staff.
- Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents & AOG’s.
- Manpower planning, recruitment and staff performance management.
- Ensuring appropriate spares, tooling and facilities are available at each location.
- Conducting regular visits to Line Stations across the UK, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory compliance.
- Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non‑Compliances & implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a management role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager or similar).
- Strong team management skills, with experience managing teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Flexible, hands‑on approach to leadership.
- Full computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Aviation Processes is an advantage but not essential.
