Ryanair is currently recruiting for a Base Maintenance Manager (Lead) to join the Engineering team of Europe’s largest airline group. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the delivery of base maintenance across multiple heavy maintenance locations, supporting a growing fleet and network. The successful candidate can be based at any of the 6 sites and should be an experienced and driven engineering professional, capable of leading multi-site operations in a fast‑paced environment. Reporting to the Head of Heavy Maintenance (Internal), this role has full responsibility for base maintenance performance, compliance, and output across the internal Ryanair network. All internal site‑based Base Maintenance Managers report directly into this position. With maintenance activity spread across Prestwick, Seville, Kaunas, Wrocław, Shannon and Hahn, frequent travel and the ability to lead teams remotely is essential.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Base Maintenance Managers across the network, driving performance and accountability across each location.
- Ensure all maintenance is delivered and certified in accordance with MOE and Part-145 requirements.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and workmanship across all bases.
- Oversee manpower planning, resource allocation, and production delivery across multiple sites.
- Ensure all bases are appropriately resourced with facilities, tooling, materials, and competent personnel.
- Drive training, competency, and performance standards across all maintenance teams.
- Manage subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual and quality requirements.
- Liaise with CAMO representatives, suppliers, and internal stakeholders on maintenance planning and defect resolution.
- Own safety performance, including risk management, occurrence reporting, and human factors.
- Investigate and resolve operational, safety, and compliance issues across the network.
- Ensure MOE and technical procedures are applied consistently and kept up to date.
- Provide regular reporting and escalation to the Head of Heavy Maintenance.
Requirements
- Significant experience in base/heavy maintenance within a Part-145 environment.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-site or distributed teams.
- Strong understanding of EASA Part-145 and MOE requirements.
- Track record of delivering operational performance in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Flexible approach with the ability to travel frequently across bases.
