AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) is inviting applications for a Station Manager to be based at Edinburgh Airport, working in cooperation with our client Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline. The successful candidate will be an operationally focused, highly adaptable, and a proven leader, who is able to demonstrate a flexible working attitude in a fast‑changing environment.
As the Station Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance across all maintenance operations. This is a challenging and dynamic leadership role that requires strong organisational skills, people management experience, and a solid background in aircraft maintenance and engineering.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents & AOG’s
- Manpower planning, recruitment and staff performance management
- Ensuring appropriate spares, tooling and facilities are available at each location
- Conducting regular visits to Line Stations across the UK, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory compliance
- Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non‑Compliances & implementing strategies to prevent recurrence
Requirements
- Proven experience in a management role (e.g., Engineering Manager, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager or similar).
- Strong team management skills, with experience managing teams in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
- Flexible, hands‑on approach to leadership.
- Full computer literacy with experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Aviation Processes is an advantage but not essential.
