The Manager, UK Corporate Tax, plays a key role in the delivery of tax compliance and advisory services to clients. Reporting to the Senior members of the team, this role is responsible for managing day-to-day client work, supporting junior team members, and ensuring high-quality service delivery. The Manager combines technical expertise with strong organisational skills to contribute to the success of the UK Corporate Tax team.
Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
- People:
- Supervise and support Senior Associates and Associates in the preparation and review of UK corporate tax deliverables.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and contribute to the development of junior team members.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture aligned with Ryan’s values.
- Support the Senior Manager in implementing training and development initiatives.
- Client:
- Manage the delivery of UK corporate tax compliance and advisory work for a portfolio of clients.
- Act as a day-to-day contact for client queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Assist in identifying client needs and opportunities to add value.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the Senior Manager or Director as appropriate.
- Value:
- Ensure all client deliverables meet regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Contribute to efficient project delivery through effective planning and resource management.
- Support the adoption of tax technology and process improvements.
- Stay up to date with UK tax legislation and contribute to internal technical discussions.
Education and Experience:
- ACA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification required.
- Solid experience in UK corporate tax, ideally gained in a mid-tier or Big Four firm.
- Experience managing client engagements and reviewing tax work.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Familiarity with tax compliance and research platforms (e.g., CCH, Onesource, Alphatax).
- Experience with CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.
Required Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation and HMRC practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Exposure to international tax or transfer pricing is beneficial.
