Ryan is building its VAT practice in the United Kingdom, Netherlands, and Luxembourg, and is looking for senior professionals at the Senior Manager, Director, and Principal levels. This role is part of an ambitious growth plan across Europe that focuses on expanding the Financial Services, Real Estate, and Indirect Tax practice.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to multinational clients on indirect tax matters.
- Lead high-impact engagements across indirect tax within financial services.
- Drive business development and originate new opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders (CFOs, Heads of Tax).
- Collaborate across Ryan’s global service lines to deliver integrated solutions.
- Prepare formal correspondence to clients and meet with clients and tax authorities.
- Coordinate VAT projects with international partners and colleagues globally.
- Maintain involvement with VAT compliance projects such as VAT registration, VAT return preparation, and VAT refund requests.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general business processes and document findings.
- Provide support with the Tax Tech team.
- Contribute to thought-leadership and marketing content.
- Support sales processes to help secure projects.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five years or more of experience as a specialized VAT advisor.
- Knowledge and experience in customs, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes is a plus but not required.
- Excellent organization, time-management, and communication skills.
- Team-player attitude and willingness to learn.
