Role Description This full-time, on-site Tradespeople role is based in the London Area, United Kingdom, supporting residential and commercial clients across South London, Surrey, and nearby regions. Day-to-day responsibilities include attending scheduled and emergency call outs, diagnosing issues, and completing repairs, installations, and maintenance across relevant trade disciplines (such as plumbing, heating, gas, electrical, drainage, building, roofing, and general property maintenance). The role involves working to agreed job specifications, ensuring all work meets safety and compliance standards, and maintaining accurate records of materials, time, and work completed. Tradespeople will interact directly with customers, providing clear explanations of work, offering practical advice, and upholding Ry Group’s standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and customer care. The position may require participation in a rota for out-of-hours or emergency work and close collaboration with office staff and other operatives to deliver timely and efficient service.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills and experience in at least one core trade (e.g., plumbing, heating, gas, electrical, drainage, building, roofing, carpentry, or general maintenance), with the ability to carry out repairs, installations, and fault finding safely and efficiently.
- Appropriate trade qualifications and certifications (e.g., NVQ or City & Guilds in a relevant discipline, Gas Safe registration for gas engineers, or equivalent) and a solid understanding of UK building regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Ability to read and follow job specifications, technical drawings, and manufacturer guidelines, using accurate measurements and suitable tools and materials for each task.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to explain work clearly, provide honest advice, manage expectations, and represent the company professionally on-site.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
