Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily transport operations, including route planning, driver allocation, and vehicle scheduling.
- Monitor fleet performance, ensuring vehicles are maintained, inspected, and compliant with legal and company standards.
- Lead and support drivers, providing guidance, performance feedback, and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Track deliveries and collections, resolving delays, disruptions, or customer issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate transport records, including mileage, fuel usage, maintenance logs, and driver hours.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, transport legislation, and internal procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse, logistics, and customer service teams to maintain smooth end-to-end operations.
- Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and service enhancements.
- Handle incident reporting, including accidents, breakdowns, and near-misses.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new drivers or transport staff.
Qualifications
- Experience in transport, logistics, or fleet supervision.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and driver hours rules.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Confident communicator with strong leadership skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- IT-literate, ideally with experience using transport management systems (TMS).
