The RxCelerate group provides a platform for out-sourced drug discovery and development services and has a client base ranging from virtual biotech companies to multinational pharmaceutical companies. We design and deliver complete drug development programmes and project management for our clients from inception through to Phase II clinical studies.
This role will support the growth and visibility of RxCelerate and its affiliates by contributing to both business development activities and marketing and communications initiatives.
The Role
This is a junior, development-focused role, suited to an individual with a scientific background and a strong interest in commercial strategy, marketing, and science communication. The role will provide exposure to business development and marketing activities across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Development & Administrative Support
- Support the Business Development team with day-to-day BD activities
- Assist with identifying, tracking, and managing new business leads and opportunities
- Help prepare client-facing materials, including slide decks, capability summaries, and follow-up documents
- Provide scientific input and background research to support client discussions and opportunity evaluation
- Support internal reporting, lead and pipeline tracking
- Assist with organisation and logistics for conferences, networking events, and client meetings
- Represent RxCelerate professionally at events and meetings where appropriate
- Support the Marketing and Communications Manager with core marketing and communications activities, including social media, content creation, and brand support
- Support and execute social media activities, primarily via LinkedIn, including drafting posts, scheduling content, and monitoring and reporting on engagement
- Support the preparation of marketing materials including posters, presentations, and conference materials, aligned with RxCelerate’s branding
- Assist with maintaining website content and ensuring messaging is current and accurate
- Help coordinate marketing campaigns and support service launches where required
- Ensure all communications are consistent with company branding, tone, and values
- Work closely with scientific teams to stay informed about services, technologies, and capabilities
- Collaborate with colleagues across RxCelerate and its affiliates to gather content and insights for marketing and BD purposes
- Support internal communications where required to help keep teams informed and engaged
- Engage with external partners including campus communities, industry membership organisations and media outlets on relevant activities and events
Skills/Requirements
- Degree in a life science or related scientific discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain scientific concepts clearly
- Creative mindset with an interest in scientific content creation
- Comfortable using social media platforms including LinkedIn and design tools such as Canva and Illustrator
- Interest in business development, marketing, and science communication
- Highly organised with good attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Proactive, adaptable, and keen to learn and develop within the role
- Some industry experience (1–3 years) in biotech or a related sector, or relevant placements/internships
- Experience supporting marketing, communications, or business development activities
- Experience in scientific marketing or science communication
- Experience supporting conferences, events, or external engagements
