About The Role
The Event Health and Safety Manager will maintain consistently high standards of health & safety and security across the events managed by the UK Hub across multiple geographies. The role will ensure that we operate within local and international legislative requirements as well as our own internal frameworks. This highly engaging and influential individual will drive and track measurable improvements and efficiencies in time, effort, and quality of work, and embed a positive culture of Event Risk Management within the Hub through all levels of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and oversee health and safety standards, ensuring compliance with local, international regulations and company policies.
- Promote and embed health and safety best practices across all events and operations.
- Monitor legislative changes and implement timely updates to processes and procedures.
- Conduct on-site reviews and audits to assess event safety arrangements and performance.
- Develop, review, and maintain risk assessments, security plans, and other safety documentation.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; report findings and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Lead health and safety meetings, briefings, and training programmes to foster a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate compliance activities, including audits, reporting, and participation in global safety initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience in delivering large-scale international exhibitions or similar complex events.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk-based management systems.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification (Level 3 RQF or above).
- Ability to lead and manage teams effectively, demonstrating collaboration and professionalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including confident presentation abilities.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to travel internationally as required.
- Detail-oriented with strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships and work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
- German language skills are advantageous.
