Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate cloud networking capabilities across RWS’s AWS and GCP environments.
  • Develop reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and supported patterns for networks, subnets, routing, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, private connectivity and related cloud services.
  • Turn complex or recurring network solutions into standardised platform capabilities that engineering teams can consume without repeated manual intervention.
  • Shape the cloud network architecture for landing zones, multi-account and multi-project environments, shared services and internal platforms.
  • Build and maintain secure connectivity between cloud workloads, enterprise services, on-premises environments and third-party platforms.
  • Establish automated approaches to network provisioning, validation, policy enforcement and change management.
  • Support Kubernetes and container networking, including ingress, service connectivity, network policy, load balancing and troubleshooting.
  • Partner with Enterprise Tech, Security and DPE to define clear ownership boundaries, delegated responsibilities and guardrails for cloud networking.
  • Develop automated, reusable patterns for secure private access to cloud-hosted services, including the deployment and lifecycle management of Netskope Private Access Publishers within cloud VPCs.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex cloud networking, routing, DNS, connectivity and performance issues.
  • Improve cloud network observability through effective use of flow logs, telemetry, monitoring and diagnostic tooling.
  • Ensure cloud network changes are version controlled, peer reviewed, tested, observable and reproducible.
  • Work directly with product and engineering teams to understand connectivity needs and provide secure, scalable and easy-to-consume solutions.
  • Coach other platform engineers and build broader cloud networking capability across the Platform Engineering team.
  • Contribute to technical standards, architectural decisions and the long-term roadmap for RWS’s cloud foundations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience designing and operating cloud networking in AWS, GCP or both within complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, NAT, firewalls, load balancing, segmentation and private connectivity.
  • Strong experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code tooling, including reusable modules, automated testing and CI/CD delivery.
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes operator patterns, controllers, GitOps, and declarative infrastructure management (Crossplane experience a plus, not required).
  • Experience with cloud connectivity patterns such as shared networks, transit networking, private endpoints, peering and secure ingress and egress.
  • Experience with Kubernetes networking, ingress, service connectivity and network policy in production environments.
  • Knowledge of hybrid connectivity patterns, such as VPNs, VPCs, cloud interconnects, direct connections, enterprise routing, IP address management, and delegated DNS.
  • Familiarity with SASE and ZTNA architectures, including Netskope Private Access Publishers and secure private-access patterns for cloud VPCs, would be advantageous.
  • Experience with network observability, flow logs, telemetry and structured troubleshooting of complex connectivity and performance issues.
  • Proven ability to turn complex technical solutions into standard, secure and consumable platform capabilities used by multiple engineering teams.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills, with experience working across Platform Engineering, Enterprise IT, Security, Architecture and product teams.
  • A platform-product mindset focused on automation, standardisation, usability and reducing cognitive load for engineering teams.
