About the Role
We are recruiting experienced Sound Technicians to join our technical teams at sea!
The Sound Technician will support the entertainment department in operating and maintaining all audio equipment on board the ship to the highest standards. As the Technician responsible for the sound equipment in the theatre, the ship’s main entertainment venue, you will be operating the audio and AV systems for our production shows and live entertainment programme on a nightly basis.
You will work with the latest technology and equipment to support the delivery of the programme. You will also be responsible, together with the stage team, for the set‑up of the band equipment and the strike and build of the theatre sets related to each of the productions.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate audio and AV systems for nightly production shows and live entertainment programs.
- Set up band equipment and build/strike theatre sets in coordination with the stage team.
- Maintain all audio equipment to the highest standards.
- Enforce health & safety procedures and collaborate with the ship‑wide team.
Requirements
- Minimum two years of proven experience mixing live sound in a theatre environment.
- Proficient with QLab, DANTE, and working with timecode.
- Capable of mixing audio for 8–10 live vocalists, a live band, multi‑track playback, and in‑ear monitoring.
- Experience enforcing H&S procedures, technical operation of production shows, and working as part of a ship‑wide team.
- Valid STCW certification (or willingness to obtain) and an ENG1 or PEME seafarer medical certificate.
- Previous sea‑go ing experience is desirable.
Contract Information
6‑month contract with competitive pay, all meals, and single occupancy cabin (variable by client cruise line).
