Led by the M Club Manager, the Children’s (M-Club) Hosts will assist the Cruise Director in delivering a fun, modern and varied children’s entertainment programme, whilst providing excellent childcare onboard a specified Marella Cruise Ship. The entertainment department consists of a team of Entertainment Hosts, Production Cast Members, a Technical Manager and team of Technicians, a Children’s Host Team, as well as a Musical Director and team of Resident Musicians.

As a member of the Children’s Entertainment Team, you will be providing an excellent childcare service and hosting/leading events and activities for the younger passengers on board, such as quizzes, games, sports, competitions, poolside events, arts & crafts, treasure hunts, dancing, sensory play, and participating in the sail away and deck parties. The age groups catered for on board will be ‘Babytainment’ for the under 3’s, 3-7’s, 8-11’s, and teenage specific activities for the 12-17’s.

Supporting other departments with the general operation of the ship may also be required of you, where your childcare duties allow (as directed by the M Club Manager and Assistant Cruise Director). As a member of the Entertainment Department, a child-specific position of responsibility will be held with regards to emergency procedures, guest mustering and drills; specific training will be received regarding this, both prior to joining and regularly on board. You are an ambassador of RWS Global.

Responsibilities
  • To enthusiastically host/lead events and activities for the younger passengers on board.
  • To develop new skills.
  • Admin duties may be required from time to time, as instructed by the M Club Manager.
  • To create and enhance the younger guest’s experience on board.
  • To uphold and exceed venue expectations.
  • To ensure standards, product and your professional behaviour is at the highest level of the company.
  • Assist the hotel operation; where required and as instructed by the Senior Entertainment Host.
  • To ensure your appearance and grooming guidelines are maintained at all times.
  • To uphold the standards set out in your training.
  • A position of onboard responsibility will be held with regards to emergency procedures, guest mustering and drills (full training received on board).
Experience & Skillset
  • The Children’s (M-Club) Hosts should have the relevant childcare qualifications to the role – minimum or equivalent of a level 3 qualification in this area.
  • Experience in a childcare role.
  • A strong knowledge of safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly nature and rapport with children.
