Are you an experienced Court of Protection lawyer looking to join a specialist team that makes a real difference to the lives of people who have suffered life-changing injuries? Our Compensation Protection Unit (CPU) is seeking a Senior Associate to join our growing Oxford team. Working alongside Louise Nettle and other experienced specialists, you will support clients who have received substantial personal injury or clinical negligence compensation awards, helping to manage their financial affairs and secure the best possible quality of life for the future.

You will manage a varied caseload of Property and Financial Affairs matters, working closely with clients, families, case managers, therapists and financial advisers. Your work will include:

  • Court of Protection applications and deputyship management.
  • Managing substantial compensation awards.
  • Personal Injury Trusts and compensation protection arrangements.
  • Financial decision making and best interests considerations.
  • Supporting clients and families through complex and sensitive circumstances.

You will also contribute to the ongoing growth of the team through business development, relationship building and supporting junior colleagues.

Unlike a traditional Private Client practice, the Compensation Protection Unit works predominantly with clients who have sustained catastrophic injuries and received significant compensation settlements as a result of Personal Injury or Clinical Negligence. We work alongside clients' families and multidisciplinary professional teams to ensure those funds are used to maximise independence, rehabilitation and quality of life. This is a rewarding opportunity to handle complex, meaningful work as part of one of RWK Goodman's leading Injury Division teams, with strong opportunities for progression and hybrid working.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes

You will be a qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with:

  • 6+ years' PQE (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong Court of Protection experience, particularly Property and Financial affairs work.
  • Experience managing your own caseload.
  • Excellent client care and relationship management skills.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach.
  • Business development experience.

If you are looking for high-quality Court of Protection work with genuine purpose and impact, we'd love to hear from you.
