Alongside delivering exceptional legal advice and outstanding client service, you'll play an active role in business development and marketing initiatives, helping to strengthen our reputation and drive the continued success of both the team and the wider firm.

  • Your Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of files, under supervision, dealing effectively with cases and transactions delivering excellent client service.
  • Advising employer and employee clients on contentious and non-contentious employment matters, including dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, redundancy, corporate support and disciplinary/grievances.
  • Drafting and reviewing employment contracts, settlement agreements, policies, and procedures.
  • Handling Employment Tribunal claims from instruction through to hearing, including preparing pleadings, witness statements, and bundles.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing clear, commercially focused advice for clients.
  • Supporting senior fee earners on complex multi-party disputes and high-value matters.
  • Deal directly with clients to take instructions and ensure a full understanding of their needs in order to deliver on client expectations.
  • Effectively scope and price work, under supervision.
  • Identify and follow relevant SRA principles and rules of professional conduct.
  • Comply with all risk management policies and processes.

  • Research and draft article and assist with the production of marketing materials.
  • Begin to develop a network of clients, contacts, and potential referrers; attend relevant networking events.

  • Continue to develop and learn in chosen areas of expertise, maintaining an up‑to‑date understanding of relevant law, policy and practice.

  • Manage time recording, WIP monitoring and billing consistently on own and others’ files and matters.

  • Seek to understand the external legal sector and market.
  • Put forward ideas for business improvements and innovation.
  • Offer to assist in the implementation of changes and improvements.

Skills, Experience and Attributes

  • Previous experience within employment law (both contentious and non contentious)
  • Ability to manage own files with supervision.
  • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service.
  • Organised and able to effectively prioritise.
