We are currently recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team in Bath. You will assist in financial related matters to all internal clients accurately and within daily deadlines. This is a hybrid role, working from our Bath office up to 3 days a week and the other 2 from home. The team deal with all transactional accounting for the firm and take a team approach to their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the firms bank accounts for daily transactions of funds received via BACS/CHAPS
  • Process BACS/CHAPS payments accurately and on time in response to payment request from internal clients
  • Process cheques accurately and on time in response to payment requests from internal clients
  • Process client to office transfers to clear outstanding invoices
  • Process supplier invoices for payment
  • Processing and checking of bills
  • Daily banking of cheques & cash received
  • Dealing with enquiries from internal clients
  • Maintain archive files on the accounts system
  • Daily bank reconciliations for client & office accounts
  • Processing credit/debit card payments from clients
  • Dealing with external clients financial queries
  • Supporting the Transactional Manager in relation to audits
  • Updating breach register for COFA
  • Processing all internal expense requests forms by BACS
  • Ensure all financial procedures comply with Solicitors Accounts rules
  • Month end routine including month end bank reconciliations
  • Monthly Reconciliation of deputyship accounts
  • Any other duty as reasonably requested by the Transactional Manager and Financial Controller which will be primarily lead by project initiatives

Skills, Experience, and Attributes:

  • A-levels or equivalent
  • Experience within a similar role in a professional services environment
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Database packages
  • Ability to use internal computer systems (after training)
  • Analytical and methodical approach to IT problem solving
  • Strong organisational skills and administrative skills
  • Ability to work with tact, discretion and confidentiality with clients and third parties
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and operates well within a team
  • Friendly and approachable
