Kirsty is an experienced solicitor (qualifying back in 2008), providing practical and understandable legal advice on all areas of employment law. Kirsty helps both employers and employees with workplace matters, from day-to-day HR queries, settlement agreements, employment contracts/service agreements, restrictive covenants, TUPE clauses for commercial agreements, staff handbooks and more.

Kirsty has regularly appeared in the Employment Tribunal and the Employment Appeal Tribunal, giving her advocacy experience which greatly assists her case preparation. She has 10 years’ experience in Commercial law, which gives her vast experience drafting legal documents and contracts, dealing with pre-action and litigation, as well as advising business owners, senior leadership teams and Human Resources professionals.

Kirsty is entrepreneurial, having previously run her own successful law firm practice. She understands the challenges faced by business owners in managing businesses and staff. Kirsty is always seeking her next challenge, having held positions of authority, such as being a former President of the Bristol Junior Chamber (part of the Chamber of Commerce). She has recently been appointed as a trustee for the Grateful Society and also holds a trusteeship helping a local Bristol charity. Additionally, she is a keen softball player and self-professed bookworm.

Given Kirsty’s experience in employment law, she has advised on BBC Bristol radio answering employment queries and appeared on BBC’s Points West, discussing discrimination for ITV West Country.

Experience:

  • Represented the Appellant in the Employment Appeal Tribunal, where the EAT found the Employment Tribunal had erred in finding employment continued when neither party argued that it did: Mr Clutch Auto Centres v Mr R Blakemore UKEAT/0509/13/LA.
  • Represented the Claimant both before her Employment Tribunal claim, and as her representative for the claim where the Employment Tribunal found that the Claimant had been unfairly dismissed. This claim attracted media attention given who the Respondent was. The Claimant was represented by Counsel in the final hearing: Ms S Wolfson v The Financial Reporting Council: 2200572/2022.
