The Patient Access Representative plays a key role in providing excellent customer service, ensuring timely registration, and capturing all necessary data accurately. Responsibilities include greeting patients, treating all customers with respect, providing a safe environment, reviewing and explaining forms, obtaining signatures, and documenting demographic and insurance information using available technology. The role also involves creating a positive environment for patient and colleague satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Customer Service experience
  • Patient Access experience
  • Knowledge of registration processes, billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Shift: Evenings, 6:30pm-3:00am Sunday through Thursday
  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Accurately document demographic information
  • Meet department goals for accuracy, collections, and productivity
  • Inform patients of financial responsibilities and collect payments
  • Verify accuracy of demographic information
  • Comply with policies on Advance Directives and Patient Rights
  • Maintain productivity and seek additional duties when possible
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare staff
  • Participate in training and development activities
  • Gather and verify insurance and demographic information
  • Complete necessary forms and questionnaires
